Ypatia Mitsatsou, is the founder of the skincare brand Kear and her journey into the beauty sector was inspired by her experiences of having sensitive skin which gave her a personal insight and passion for clean, natural, sustainable and ethical skincare. What inspired you to start a company in the health and wellness sector and what do you offer?
Our journey to Kear began with a personal quest for kinder skincare. As someone with sensitive skin, I found myself constantly battling breakouts even long after adolescence. Existing routines felt overwhelming, packed with a long ingredient list that was confusing to navigate. I yearned for a more straightforward, natural solution that wouldn't irritate my skin.

This search for effective yet gentle skincare led me to draw inspiration from Greece's rich history. Greece boasts a long tradition of natural wellness practices, utilising the power of plants and herbs for centuries. We considered this heritage when formulating Kear balms and oils, incorporating nourishing olive oil and other time-tested ingredients.

The name "Kear" itself reflects this connection. In ancient Greek, it signifies the very essence of the "heart" –the centre of our emotions, vitality, and well-being. Interestingly, it's also pronounced similarly to the English word "care." This beautiful duality embodies the spirit of our brand. Kear isn't just a product; it's a culmination of our passion for natural solutions and a dedication to creating something truly special. We've poured our Greek heart into crafting a balm that nourishes your skin with the wisdom of Nature.

Initially, we considered creating a complete skincare line with separate cleansers, moisturisers, and serums. However, after extensive research and testing, we realised that many people craved a more straightforward solution, particularly those with sensitive skin.

This decision to prioritise a single, all-in-one balm was transformative. It allowed us to concentrate on perfecting a truly effective and gentle formula, which resonated with our core values of simplicity and natural care. 

By dedicating our resources to one product, we could meticulously research and select the most potent and beneficial natural ingredients.  We remain committed to offering high-quality, natural skincare solutions that simplify routines and prioritise customer well-being without straying from our ethos and philosophy.

How do you measure success in terms of health and wellness outcomes for your clients or customers?
At Kear, we measure success in terms of two critical aspects of health and wellness: 

•   Visible improvements in skin health: We gather feedback through surveys and testimonials, looking for evidence of positive changes in hydration, radiance, and overall skin health. We prioritise gentle formulations that are well-tolerated, especially by those with sensitive skin.
